Call for Abstracts
The European Association for Accident Research and Analysis (EVU) invites researchers from around the world to submit abstracts for presentation at our 2019 annual conference in Barcelona, Spain. The theme this year is ‘Safety in an evolving road mobility environment: vulnerable road users and digitalisation’.
The event will feature a wide range of exciting talks, discussions, and networking opportunities with experts, researchers, and up-and-coming leaders in the field of accident research, analysis and investigation.
This is an opportunity to share your accident investigation research with international colleagues who are actively aligning technology, law, society, and policy with advances in accident research. Investigators at all career stages are encouraged to submit one or more abstracts.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed. Acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. Oral and poster presentations will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday October 24, 25 and 26, 2019.

You can submit an abstract to any of the following categories:
- Pedestrian and bicycle accidents
- Motorized two-wheeled accidents (including pedelecs, scooters, segways)
- Digitisation (EDR, traffic simulation, automated driving)
- Open forum with contributions from all areas of accident reconstruction
Abstracts submitted by the deadline may be considered for the following opportunities:
Oral Presentation – Authors will be selected (on the basis of abstract topic and quality of submissions) to present a full paper and give a brief oral presentation about their research. Authors giving an oral presentation will not be expected to present a poster.
Poster Presentation – Authors of accepted abstracts are expected to present a poster (if not giving an oral presentation).
Conference proceedings –Abstracts accepted for oral presentation will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and published in the conference proceedings.
All abstracts must be received through the online abstract submission form before the deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted. If necessary, please send via email (email@example.com) a PDF version of the abstract.
At least one author must plan to attend the meeting and present the abstract.
All oral and poster presenters must confirm their participation and register by the 31st of May 2019 to be included in program materials.
Work presented in abstracts must be in compliance with local policies, ethical review related to the use of humans and animals in research, and the disclosure and conflict of interest statement listed below.
Abstracts are reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee. Their decisions on acceptance and other recognitions will be final. The committee is not obligated to provide feedback to abstract authors regarding final decisions.
DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: 31st January at 11:59pm CET
Notification regarding acceptance will be emailed to authors by the 25th of March 2019. Recipients of the oral presentations and other recognitions will be notified individually by email and are expected to confirm their acceptance within one week. All presenters will be announced by 13th September 2019 at www.evu2019.org.
Authors are responsible for reporting any real or perceived financial conflict of interest. A brief disclosure and conflict of interest statement should be included in the submitted abstract and viewable on the poster. Therefore, each author must indicate any benefit to an individual or company that may potentially lead to financial reward.
The EVU is a pan-European association of experts in the field of accident research and reconstruction. The EVU aims to pool the expertise of the various professionals in this field, as well as to provide its members with an online ‘knowledge base‘.
